Grau Roig Andorra Boutique Hotel & Spa is a 42-room mountain hotel at the end of the access road in Grandvalira’s Grau Roig sector. The lifts are about ten metres away, so the hotel’s defining advantage is direct access to the ski area rather than proximity to a village. The property sits in a high Pyrenean landscape with no ordinary town services next door; guests arrive for the hotel, the mountain and the resort facilities. This position is useful for skiers and summer walkers, but it makes transport, weather and the hotel’s own dining schedule central parts of a stay.

The building is small in room count but has several accommodation categories: Authentic, Superior, Romantic, Junior Suite and Suite Deluxe. The operator describes rooms as individually designed with mountain materials such as wood, iron and leather. Across categories, it lists large beds, views and selected in-room whirlpool tubs, while larger suites add more space. The hotel’s 42-room scale differs from a large resort complex, but names alone do not specify a particular view, floor plan or tub. Ask which room features apply to the exact category and whether the assigned room has the layout needed for children or mobility requirements.

The setting places skiing unusually close. Grandvalira pistes and lifts begin beside the hotel, with the operator describing the hotel as ski-in/ski-out and the nearest lifts roughly ten metres away. That short transition can simplify carrying equipment and taking breaks, but lift access still depends on resort operating dates, snow, weather and the individual lift schedule. The hotel is not a substitute for checking whether a particular sector or run is open. In summer and autumn, the same high-altitude location becomes a base for walking and mountain activities, although winter services and lift operations should not be assumed to continue into warmer months.

The spa gives non-ski hours a dedicated focus. Hotel guests can use the circuit, which includes a heated pool, hydro-massage baths, sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation area. The published spa hours are 10:00–21:00; from 15:00 to 21:00, children under 16 are not admitted. Entry is included for hotel guests, while treatments and massages are separately arranged. The age restriction is important for families: a child may use the spa earlier in the day but not during the afternoon/evening restriction. Confirm treatment availability and any booking requirement before building an itinerary around a particular session.

Food is unusually varied for a remote mountain hotel. The operator lists La Vaqueria for traditional mountain food at the foot of the slopes, La Marmita for seasonal market and mountain cuisine, La Fromagerie for fondue and raclette, and The Wine Theater for wine-focused dining. The hotel also identifies a Secret Room experience. La Marmita and La Fromagerie publish evening service from 19:30 to 22:00. La Vaqueria serves lunch and its page gives different seasonal times: the schedule header says 13:00–16:00 in winter and 13:00–15:00 the rest of the year, while page text gives 12:00–16:30 in winter and 13:00–15:30 in summer. The exact current lunch service should be confirmed when booking; the discrepancy should not be smoothed into one definitive schedule.

These restaurants have different formats and should not be treated as one all-day dining room. La Vaqueria is a slopeside lunch option, while La Marmita and La Fromagerie are evening venues. The latter focuses on cheeses and Alpine dishes; La Marmita describes seasonal market cooking with a mountain influence. The Wine Theater and Secret Room may require reservations or have date-specific availability. Book a table in advance and confirm which venue is operating on the dates of stay, particularly outside the main ski season. A hotel restaurant’s posted schedule does not mean every outlet serves every meal every day.

The hotel’s common spaces include a Copper Bar, children’s club and fitness room. The kids’ area is designed for play and activities, but the operator does not describe it as supervised childcare. The fitness room has Technogym equipment. A Summer Lounge operates during warmer months and includes an outdoor heated jacuzzi, subject to seasonal opening. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. The spa and outdoor lounge are distinct facilities: the indoor pool and spa have published hours, while the summer area follows the season and should be checked separately.

Reaching Grau Roig requires attention to mountain conditions. The hotel’s address is the Grandvalira sector itself rather than a numbered street in a town, and the road ends at the mountain complex. In winter, snow, wind and closures can alter the approach; in summer, mountain weather can also change quickly. Guests driving should check current road and resort notices and confirm whether parking is included with their booking. Those arriving without a car should ask the hotel about transfers and transport availability, since the Google hotel card reports no nearby public transit and the property is not in a walkable town centre.

Check-in begins at 15:00 and checkout is at 12:00 according to booking-platform information; late check-in is subject to availability. Google Hotels lists a 24-hour front desk, but that does not mean every dining venue or spa service operates overnight. Tell the hotel if arrival may be late and confirm where to check in. The high-altitude location rewards a stay built around the mountain and the hotel’s facilities, but it is less convenient for visitors who want to leave on foot for a broad choice of shops or restaurants.

Grau Roig is best suited to guests who want lifts close to the door, spa facilities and several on-site dining styles. It is less suitable for a low-cost, town-centre itinerary or anyone who expects all outlets to follow one schedule. Before booking, confirm room features, spa age rules, restaurant availability, La Vaqueria’s seasonal lunch hours, parking and late arrival. Those details allow the remote setting to work as an advantage rather than a logistical surprise.
