Hotel Panorama is a four-star family hotel at Carretera de l’Obac 64 in Escaldes-Engordany, close to the main shopping district and a short walk from Caldea. Its combination of exterior-facing rooms, an indoor spa and a central address suits travellers who want to keep shops, restaurants and thermal bathing within walking distance while using the town as a base for day trips into the Pyrenees. A pedestrian exit from the hotel reaches the Carlemany–Meritxell shopping axis almost immediately.
The location brings an important distinction: the hotel’s spa is separate from Caldea, the large thermal leisure centre nearby. Hotel guests have access to the hotel wellness area, while Caldea requires its own admission unless a reservation expressly includes a package. The spa has a heated indoor pool, hydromassage tub, sauna, gym and solarium. Guest access is included, subject to capacity, and the daily schedule is 09:00–20:00 for families, followed by adults-only access from 20:00–21:00. Swimwear and flip-flops are required. The pool and jacuzzi are scheduled to close for maintenance from 16 to 20 November 2026; other spa facilities are expected to remain open.
Rooms are described as exterior-facing, with categories for couples, families and groups. Standard options accommodate up to four people, while a quintuple room can take as many as five. Some categories offer valley or city views; four Junior Suites have a hydromassage bathtub, a guaranteed king-size double bed and views over the city and mountains. Standard room equipment includes Wi-Fi, air conditioning, heating, a safe, desk, minibar, hairdryer, television and telephone, though amenities vary by category. A cot is available for €3 per night with advance request. In standard and view rooms, a double-bed preference is subject to availability; the Junior Suite is the category in which a double bed is guaranteed.
The hotel’s restaurant serves breakfast from 07:15 to 10:30, lunch from 13:00 to 15:30 and dinner from 19:30 to 22:00. Its café bar is listed from 07:15 until midnight, and room service has separate hours: breakfast service from 07:15 to 10:30 and food or beverages from 11:00 to 22:30, with a supplement. The restaurant says it can adapt options for coeliac guests and other dietary needs; contact the hotel in advance or speak with staff on arrival. Filtered water is included during meal service, but other drinks are not included in half-board or full-board plans unless the booking says otherwise. If dinner is part of your plan and you expect to arrive late, notify reception beforehand; the hotel recommends advance notice to arrange an alternative.
Parking is a paid, covered service with limited spaces assigned on arrival rather than reserved in advance. The current hotel FAQ lists €17 per day for cars and €8.50 per day for motorcycles. A complimentary valet service can be requested. The garage height limit is two metres, so check vehicle dimensions before arriving. The hotel also provides a monitored bicycle corner with individual locks, tools and a cleaning area; bicycles are not allowed in guest rooms. These arrangements are useful for road trips and cycling holidays, but availability should be confirmed at check-in and the parking fee included in the trip budget.
Reception is open 24 hours, and luggage storage is available free before check-in and after checkout. Those details help if you arrive before your room is ready or have time to spend in town after leaving. The hotel does not currently accept pets. It also has a games room, a panoramic restaurant, café bar and spaces for meetings, family celebrations and other private events by prior request. Guests should confirm event arrangements, accessibility needs and any service details that matter to their particular room or group.
Hotel Panorama’s position makes it possible to leave the car at the property and explore the commercial centre on foot. Shops, cafés and dining options cluster along the central axis, while the nearby Caldea district provides another major visitor activity. For hiking or lake visits, the hotel publishes routes beginning from its location, including options toward Engolasters and mountain paths; these are walks, not hotel-run guided excursions unless separately advertised. Check trail conditions, weather, distance and elevation before setting out, especially in winter or during shoulder seasons. For ski areas, arrange transport independently and allow time for mountain-road conditions.
Families may find the flexible room capacity and family spa hours especially useful, while couples can choose a Junior Suite or combine the hotel’s own wellness area with a separately booked Caldea visit. The adults-only final spa hour offers a quieter period, but it is not an all-evening spa service. The hotel’s central setting also means it is a town property rather than a remote hideaway: convenience to shopping and restaurants comes with ordinary urban activity around the area.
Before booking, confirm the room category, bed configuration, cot request, meal plan, spa access and parking availability. Ask about any maintenance dates affecting the pool or jacuzzi and whether any seasonal service has changed. If arriving by car, check the two-metre clearance and do not rely on advance garage reservation. With those practical points settled, Hotel Panorama gives visitors an accessible urban base with family-oriented rooms and an included wellness area near the shopping streets and Caldea.
