Roc de les Bruixes is a seasonal mountain restaurant in Grandvalira’s Canillo sector, inside the Mon(t)Màgic Family Park at Edifici El Forn. It serves traditional Pyrenean food in a mountain setting, with a menu that includes trinxat, slow-cooked and grilled meats, handmade fondue, sharing plates and homemade desserts. On clear days, the terrace looks out over the valley. Its location is part of the attraction, but it also affects access: visitors reach the restaurant from the Canillo gondola with a valid ski pass or, in winter, by skiing to the area.

The restaurant is not in the village centre and should not be confused with the prehistoric rock engravings that share the name Roc de les Bruixes. For this dining venue, the relevant location is the Canillo ski sector and the El Forn building. Grandvalira lists +376 753 181 and forn@soldeu.ad for reservations. The 2025 tourism guide lists the restaurant at the gondola building and gives +376 753 181. Before setting out, check that the gondola or ski access is operating and that the restaurant is open for the season; mountain access is not interchangeable with driving directly to an ordinary roadside restaurant.

The cooking brings together familiar Pyrenean dishes and a more polished mountain menu. Grandvalira highlights trinxat, a cabbage-and-potato preparation associated with the region, as well as meat cooked slowly or over the grill and house-made desserts. The current operator description also mentions fondues and sharing dishes, made with local produce and selected Catalan and French ingredients. This gives groups a choice between a warming shared meal and individual plates. Menu composition can change from winter to summer, so review the current menu linked by Grandvalira or contact the operator if you have a specific dish in mind.

Fondue and grilled meat are among the most distinctive options for an on-mountain meal. A fondue can be a social choice for a group, while grilled cuts or slow-cooked meats provide a substantial lunch during a day outdoors. Trinxat offers a regional alternative, and desserts are prepared in-house according to the resort page. Tripadvisor’s current profile also presents the restaurant as a family venue with rustic mountain décor and valley views. Its available visitor menu and photographs may reflect a previous operating period, so check the latest menu rather than expecting an older dish or price to remain unchanged.

The setting is designed to suit visitors spending the day in the Family Park or on the slopes. The interior combines wood and natural mountain materials, and the terrace provides a place to pause when the weather is sunny. Grandvalira lists Wi-Fi and toilets among the services. In winter, guests can arrive on skis or take the gondola on foot with a ski pass. For families or non-skiers, this creates a practical way to reach a mountain restaurant without skiing the whole route, but the lift’s operating hours, pass requirements and access conditions should be checked before departure.

The restaurant also offers mountain dinners for groups of at least 18 people by reservation, according to Grandvalira. This is not the same as everyday lunch service, and it should be arranged in advance with the operator. Ask about transport, gondola access after regular hours, menu format and return arrangements when requesting a group dinner. The public page does not establish that the gondola runs for late meals or that an individual walk-up dinner is available. Planning these details is particularly important in winter, when weather and lift schedules can affect access.

Opening hours are seasonal, and the current Grandvalira page still displays the last winter schedule, not a confirmed 2026–27 timetable. For winter 2025–26, the operator listed daily lunch from 12:00 to 15:30 and an opening period through 29 March 2026. Restaurant Guru reproduces the same daily hours but marks the venue temporarily closed, and Tripadvisor’s profile has no posted hours. The resort page also says the restaurant operates in winter and summer, but does not state a current summer timetable. As of September 2026, do not assume that the winter schedule is active; confirm the next season’s calendar before visiting.

The mountain environment calls for a little extra preparation. Weather may change quickly, the terrace may be unavailable or uncomfortable in wind and cold, and access depends on lift or ski conditions. Wear suitable footwear if taking the gondola as a pedestrian and follow Grandvalira’s instructions for the Family Park. The operator lists access on foot from the gondola with a ski pass or by skiing in winter; these instructions relate to the resort’s published winter access and should be reconfirmed for summer operation. If someone in your party has mobility needs, contact Grandvalira in advance because an accessible route up to the restaurant cannot be inferred from general resort accessibility information.

Roc de les Bruixes suits visitors who want a proper meal within the Canillo mountain area rather than a quick cafeteria stop. The menu’s regional dishes, fondue, grilled meat and desserts pair naturally with a day in the Family Park or on the slopes, and the terrace adds a valley-view option when conditions are favourable. Check the resort’s current season dates and access rules, call +376 753 181 to confirm opening and reservations, and verify the menu if you have dietary needs. The published 12:00–15:30 schedule belongs to winter 2025–26 and should not be treated as a current year-round timetable.
