Hotel Font d’Argent Canillo is a four-star hotel on Av. Sant Joan de Caselles in the centre of Canillo, positioned for visitors who want the Grandvalira lift, village services and a hotel-based spa within easy reach. The hotel’s operator places the Canillo gondola about 75 metres from the entrance, with direct access to the ski area and Grandvalira Family Park. That proximity is its clearest practical advantage in winter: guests can reach the lift without making the hotel itself a ski-in/ski-out property. The building also sits beside the CG-2 valley road, so the address is straightforward to identify but town traffic and winter driving remain part of the arrival experience.

The accommodation includes standard rooms and themed family rooms; the operator describes modern rooms with heating and air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a minibar, safe, flat-screen television, hairdryer and toiletries. Google’s hotel description also notes balconies in some rooms and child-oriented themed beds in family accommodation. Room layouts and views vary, so travellers choosing a particular configuration should verify its details against the booking category rather than assume every room has the same features. The hotel is a serviced base, not an apartment-style property with cooking facilities.

The spa is a distinct paid or booking-dependent facility rather than an automatic inclusion in every stay. The official site lists a water circuit with hot tub, Turkish and Finnish saunas, massage room and beauty salon. Spa access may be included with some direct bookings or room categories at certain times of year, but the general policy is a supplement per person and session; massages and treatments are booked separately. The stated daily schedule is 10:00–21:00 in summer and 15:00–21:00 in winter. Children aged four to eleven have a designated family period—10:00–17:00 in summer and 15:00–17:00 in winter—and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under four are not admitted to the spa. Advance reservation is required and entry depends on availability; guests should check the current seasonal timetable before planning around it.

Dining is organised around the hotel’s restaurant, which serves buffet breakfast and dinner with international dishes and mountain cooking. Breakfast is listed from 07:30 to 10:30 and dinner from 19:00 to 22:00. The hotel says it can accommodate gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and allergen-related requests if notified during booking. Those are service descriptions from the operator; menus and seasonal offerings can change. The breakfast and dinner times refer to restaurant service, not hotel reception hours or the time a guest may enter the building.

For skiers, each room has a secure ski or snowboard locker, and ski passes can be arranged through the reception or as part of a hotel-and-ski booking. The property does not provide a boot dryer, an important detail for guests planning several consecutive days on snow. The private covered garage is on site but costs extra, cannot be reserved in advance and depends on availability. Confirm parking before arrival if a vehicle is essential; do not assume the hotel can hold a space. The Canillo Ice Palace is a short walk away, while nearby sights such as Sant Joan de Caselles and the village’s older centre provide options when the lifts are not the day’s focus.

In warmer months, the location can also serve as a base for walking, mountain biking, climbing, via ferrata and high-lake excursions described by the hotel. These activities take place around Canillo and the wider mountains; they are not all guided or operated by the hotel. Lift operation, mountain access and trail conditions are seasonal and should be checked separately. Canillo’s road connection also makes day trips toward Soldeu, El Tarter and Andorra la Vella possible, although traffic and weather can change driving times.

Check-in begins at 15:00 and checkout is by 12:00. The official site asks guests expecting to arrive after 22:00 to contact reception to coordinate arrival. Booking.com currently shows check-in from 15:00 to midnight and checkout from 05:00 to 12:00; Tripadvisor and Google hotel information describe a 24-hour front desk. These sources indicate continuous reception support, but late arrivals should still be coordinated directly because the operator explicitly requests contact after 22:00. The operator’s separate contact page gives weekday office-contact hours, which are for booking enquiries and must not be mistaken for the hotel’s guest reception schedule.

Font d’Argent suits visitors who want a central Canillo hotel with quick gondola access, a spa, ski storage and hotel dining. It is less suitable for travellers who need guaranteed garage parking, included spa access, an in-room kitchenette or an unconfirmed late check-in arrangement. The most useful pre-arrival checks are the selected room’s exact features, spa access and family hours, restaurant operation for the travel dates, and parking availability. Those details can vary by season and booking type even though the hotel itself operates as an all-year village base.

The public bus network also follows the valley corridor, but stop locations and timetables should be checked for the specific travel date.
