Aleksandër Moisiu Museum

The Aleksandr Moisiu’s House-Museum, a building with stunning architecture and ethnographic displays as well as the boyhood house of renowned actor Aleksandr Moisiu, is one of the must-see sights in Durrs’ old center and is open everyday.

The Durrs Amphitheater is close to the museum. The road leading to it is particularly lovely, as it seems to lean against the ancient city’s medieval byzantine walls. The building is characteristic of twentieth-century Albanian architecture, with a harmonious design constructed of stone and wood.

This museum is a treat to stroll around, with two levels, stunning arches over the steps, and a broad wooden tunnel ornamented with wooden workings that appear to flow over the columns! The home is divided into numerous big, well-lit spaces that are exposed to sunshine for the most of the day. The museum’s windows have preserved its 100-year-old character, while the cobblestoned front yard is encircled by grass. The whole interior is designed in a dynamic way, with the visitor moving among the rooms with ease.
