Food & Restaurants on Cham Island

Travelers can sample some of Cham Island’s numerous delectable specialities while there. Cellana (also known as the “woman chest snail” or “oc vu vang”), banh it la gai (a ramie cake with a coconut filling), and woodland veggies are all featured in seaside restaurants’ set-menu lunches. On iron nets, local ladies can be seen creating muc mot nang (partially dried squids) when strolling along the harbor. The host family may take the visitors to streams where cua da (stone crabs) can be captured if they are staying overnight. The locals enjoy steaming them with spices and then eating them with salt and black pepper. Because this species is currently extremely uncommon in the wild, it is not advised to eat it. Not to mention, the most valuable bird’s nests are those that can be eaten. They are harvested by locals in cliff caves on Hon Lao’s most southeasterly point.

At Bai Ong, Bai Lang, and Bai Chong, three beaches frequented by tourists, visitors can find restaurants and eateries. Bai Ong and Bai Chong are frequented by day-tourists, and thus, many locations are only available during the day. There is a discount of 100,000 to 200,000 VND per person when reserving a four-person set menu through a corporation. As a dessert, steamed rice, shellfish, salad, soup, fresh fruit, and a local sweet cake will be served. On the other side, seafood enthusiasts can purchase fresh items, bring them to kitchens, and request that chefs prepare their preferred dishes. The preparation charge is based on the kind and weight of the item. It is possible to walk or ride a motorcycle there from the main village.
