The Polytechnic Institution of Tirana (UPT) is a public university in Tirana, Albania’s capital. It grants degrees in engineering and other subjects.
After the Institution of Tirana, the Polytechnic University of Tirana is Albania’s oldest and second biggest university.
It was established in 1951 and presently has over 10,000 students from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. In 2012, on the occasion of Albania’s 100th anniversary of independence, President Bujar Nishani bestowed a high honor badge to UPT. The Albanian Public Agency for Accreditation of Higher Education has fully certified the institution (APAAHE).
