- Tirana
- Posted 2 years ago
The New Bazaar first opened its doors in 1939, and it has continued to thrive and flourish throughout the years. Its creation was compelled by the constant expansion in commercial activity, which the lone Old Bazaar could no longer accommodate. After the old Bazaar was demolished in 1959, the new Bazaar became Tirana’s only meat, fish, vegetable, and fruit market for a long period. The New Bazaar is in one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. It is still one of the city’s most important marketplaces for livestock, seafood, vegetables, and fruits. It’s a 24-hour place that focuses on product commerce in the mornings and culinary concerns in the afternoons for the restaurants in the area, as well as the development of artistic and cultural activities such as festivals, fairs, and other events.
