Durres Sphinx
Description
- Durrës
- Posted 2 years ago
‘Durres Sphinx’ is a contemporary building built by the municipality of this city for the invaders and for tourists. With volume of 1920 m2 armor, 40 tonnes of iron as well as 1400 m3 concrete this object merges with the city’s panorama.
This contemporary architectural item, often known as Cape Urban, is the highest point on the Durres land and sea. A distinct line of white stone and cascading stairs, all built of local stones and materials, links the promenade and plaza with the Adriatic Sea. The sun shines magnificently on Sphinx, evoking the island of Santorini’s mystical impact. Here you may see the Adriatic’s beautiful sun rays in all their splendour, lovely and lively.
