Th\u00e1p B\u00e1nh \u00cdt\u00a0(Banh It Cham Towers) is a cluster of four towers constructed between the 10th and 11th centuries on a hill overlooking a river 17 kilometers (11 miles) northwest of Quy Nhon. It is one of the best large sites of Cham ruins still extant and the most accessible and well-maintained in the countryside. While not as large as ancient ruins like Angkor or Borobudur, the B\u00e1nh it site is nonetheless a lovely mixture of rolling farmland hills, a river, and towers, since it was designed by the Cham to be in harmony with the surrounding nature. Despite the fact that the location had nothing to do with silver, early French colonialists called Champa landmarks after minerals, and the term \u201cSilver Towers\u201d is still used in many Western sources. Vietnamese commonly refer to the towers as B\u00e1nh \u00cdt, which is also the name of a local speciality sweet cake.<br \/>The first tower encountered when approaching from the east is the 13-meter (42-foot) gate.
