There are numerous restaurants in Djibouti, including tourist traps. Be prepared for sticker shock if you want to try western food. You and your wallet will both benefit from the experience if you are interested in excellent local food. The Ethiopian Community Center, for example, sells a broad range of Ethiopian flares that are both delicious (and safe) and fairly priced. Avoid areas where visitors congregate, and you will be happy as a result. Outside a tourist trap, the average cost of a lunch is $4, including drinks.
