The result is an American airfield more secret than most international strike strips, hidden in plain sight behind the power of secrecy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pilots must follow the most restrictive approach procedures in the continental U.S. Airspace R\u20114808N, which spans Area&nbsp;51, is permanently closed to all ordinary flights. Information from declassified UFO-busting projects and limited commercial imagery implies that Homey Airport\u2019s concrete is maintained meticulously, yet nothing is open to observers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What makes Area&nbsp;51 \u201cbizarre\u201d is this extreme secrecy and solitude. Off-duty service members used to joke that their tours were just to test how quietly they could stand guard.
