The Saints Constantine and Elena resort complex is Bulgaria\u2019s oldest. It is situated between the city of Varna and The Golden Sands Resort, about 8 kilometers from the city. The climate is characteristic of the Continental Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and a median temperature of 22 degrees centigrade in June.<\/p>

The resort is surrounded by a canopy of deciduous shade trees and is home to seven mineral springs. The springs range in depth from 1,800 to 2,050 meters, with an average continuous flow of 175 liters per second, and are between 40 and 60 degrees centigrade in temperature. Due to these hot springs, the resort has long been one of the most popular spas on the Black Sea coast.<\/p>

The resort is named after the ancient monastery of Saints Constantine and Elena, which is situated here. The monastery\u2019s history is unknown, however it was renovated in the first part of the nineteenth century. During the communist period, the resort, which was already a prominent tourist destination at the start of the twentieth century, was known as The Druzhba (Friendship) Resort.<\/p>

Saints Constantine and Elena\u2019s beach is 3.5 kilometers long, and the complex has a variety of hotels. Apart from the thermal baths, the resort has a yacht dock, tennis courts, soccer fields, and a range of water sports and coastal activities. Additionally, the complex has shops, restaurants, bars, a post office, a pharmacy, and a fitness facility. The Evksinograd Palace lies nearby, and served as the summer palace for Bulgarian emperors Alexander I, Ferdinand I, and Boris III.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The 16th-century Eastern Orthodox monastery of Sts. Constantine and Helena, the royal summer castle, garden, and vineyard of Euxinograd, and the Sofia University Botanical Garden, also known as Ecopark Varna, are all notable landmarks. Kastritzi, one of the best-preserved medieval villages in the nation, was uncovered during archaeological digs within Euxinograd. It was also referred to as Macropolis by the Crusaders in 1444. Kastritzi was a lively port of the Second Bulgarian Empire in the mid-14th century, frequented by Venetian, Genoese, Ragusan, and Byzantine commerce ships.<\/p>

Additionally, Constantine and Helena include the luxury resorts Grand Hotel Varna and Sunny Day, as well as various villa complexes. There are sandy beaches punctuated by rocky outcrops, hot mineral springs, contemporary hotels, and recreational and health amenities, including spas and boat marinas.<\/p>

The former thermal bath was renovated as part of the complex\u2019s renewal in 2017 and reopened as Aquahouse Thermal & Beach.<\/p>
