Lozenets is a settlement and beach resort on Bulgaria\u2019s Black Sea coast in the south. It is located at 42\u00b013\u2032N 27\u00b048\u2032E in Tsarevo Municipality, Burgas Province. It has a population of 560 as of February 2011. The estimated population for 2019 is 578.<\/p>

Mrs. Maria Vasileva served as mayor of Lozenets from 2011 until 2017. Mrs. Zhenya Gandieva has served as interim mayor of Lozenets since August 2016.<\/p>

Lozenets was created in 1924 by around 20 Bulgarian refugee families from Eastern Thrace (mainly Peneka (K\u00f6m\u00fcrk\u00f6y) and Malak Samokov (Demirk\u00f6y)), who were first housed in Poturnak (Velika) but relocated to the beach in pursuit of better living circumstances. They settled in the Embelets or Ambelia region, which, according to folklore, was formerly home to Tsarevo\u2019s ancient vineyards (or perhaps its first iteration). Agriculture, animal breeding, and woodcutting were the primary modes of subsistence for the initial settlers, with some subsequently learning sea fishing.<\/p>

Since the 1960s, national and international marine tourism have transformed the look of Lozenets and the local economy. Today, the community is a hive of activity as a tourist destination.<\/p>

To the south of the settlement lies a villa zone. Numerous prominent Bulgarians have constructed homes there. Among them are actors Anya Pencheva and Aneta Sotirova, singer Beloslava, and MPs Zheni Zhivokova and Nikolay Nikolov.<\/p>

The Oasis beach in Lozenets\u2019 southern section is bordered with numerous high-end hotels and is next to a villa zone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Lozenets is known for its long, gorgeous beach and two campgrounds. The region is densely forested. Lozenets is located near the Strandzha mountain, which makes it a perfect location for leisure.<\/p>

Summer temperatures range between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius in June and September and between 26 and 31 degrees Celsius in July and August. Lozenets has the purest sea water on Bulgaria\u2019s Black Sea coast.<\/p>

A surf school is situated on the beach\u2019s northern end.
