The monastery is situated on the banks of the Vladajska Reka River in Obradovtsi, a historic hamlet that is now a district of Sofia. From 1942 to 1945, a monastery church was erected, followed by residential structures and many smaller chapels. A spring with miraculous characteristics may be found in the chapel dedicated to St. Kosma and Damian.<\/p>
Georgia Bogdanov painted the icons in the church. Mircho Radulov and Kosta Dinoev created the main altar. In the doorway, there is a miraculous icon showing the monastery’s patron saint, St. I shall pass.<\/p>
According to mythology, the first monastery was established at this location in the 11th century. It was meant to be a vast monastery with several structures and 40 chapels. It was nearly totally devastated during the crusades and afterwards the Ottoman conquests.
