Bad Schallerbach is a town in the Grieskirchen region of the Austrian state of Upper Austria.Owing to the 1918 sulfur spring development, it has long been considered one of the best health cities.With so many attractions\u2014the EurothermenResort, the Cabrio-Therme Tropicana, the Sauna-Bergdorf AusZeit, and the Piratenwelt Aquapulco\u2014Bad Schallerbach is also a popular holiday destination.<\/p>

Bad Schallerbach is a town beside the Trattnach river, at a height of 308 meters in the Hausruckviertel area. Out of its 8.4 square kilometer area, 14.3% is forest land and 66.7% is utilized for agricultural. Inn and Hausruckviertler H\u00fcgelland geographical unit include the village.<\/p>

Gebersdorf, Sch\u00f6nau, and Bad Schallerbach are the three villages that comprise Bad Schallerbach. These villages’ respective populations as of January 1, 2023, were 4,330, 27, and 104. Bad Schallerbach is a low valley floor town with an average elevation of 320 meters above sea level. The Trattnach River meanders and floods through the town.Around the village are low hills that are a part of the Hausruck-Kobernau\u00dferwald range.Situated 507 meters above sea level, the Koglerberg is the highest peak in the municipality.<\/p>

The principal body of water in Bad Schallerbach is the 71 km long Trattnach River, which has a 534 km catchment area. The river rises near Wels and, after emerging from the Kobernau\u00dferwald forest, joins the Traun river. Sporting pursuits on the river include fishing and canoeing. Several small ponds and streams are also found in the municipality; these include the Wallernbach, the Schallerbach, and the Schlosspark pond.<\/p>

Numerous mountain ranges that are near to Bad Schallerbach make up the Northern Limestone Alps. The two nearest are the Hausruck-Kobernau\u00dferwald range, a low mountain range with a maximum height of 893 m, and the Totes Gebirge, a high mountain range with a maximum height of 2350 m. You can unwind, have fun, and appreciate nature at many of the parks and green areas in Bad Schallerbach. Biggest and most well-known is Schlosspark. This 12-hectare park around the Schallerbach Castle. Within the park are a playground, a miniature golf course, a rose garden, a pond, and an art trail. Among the numerous parks and green places in town are the Kurpark, the Botanischer Garten, and the Waldspielplatz.<\/p>

Two nature parks in Bad Schallerbach safeguard the natural and biological treasures of the region. The first is 67-hectare marsh called Trattnachauen, which hugs the Trattnach river. Many species of birds, amphibians, snakes, and plants call the swamp home, making it a crucial wildlife refuge. The second one is a 32-hectare forest on the same-named hill known as Koglerberg. The forest is largely composed of beech trees and is home to animals including mice, bears, and deer.<\/p>

Wide views of the town and the surrounding landscape are available from several stunning locations in Bad Schallerbach. Most well-known are the Aussichtswarte, a 30-meter-tall observation tower on the Koglerberg, and the Aussichtsplattform, a 12-meter-tall platform atop the EurothermenResort. Historical sites in Bad Schallerbach speak to the town’s varied and rich past. The most well-known and ancient is the Schallerbach Castle, which was inhabited by the noble Schallerbach family starting in the thirteenth century. Nowadays, the castle functions as a museum exhibiting the local history and culture. Furthermore located in the town are the fifteenth-century Gothic Pfarrkirche, the Renaissance Rathaus from the sixteenth century, and the Art Nouveau Kurhaus from the nineteenth century.<\/p>

Bad Schallerbach boasts a number of architectural elements that emphasise its modern and avant-garde character.The two most prominent, both part of the EurothermenResort, are the Cabrio-Therme Tropicana and the Sauna-Bergdorf AusZeit. The Cabrio-Therme Tropicana is a tropically themed thermal spa including a lagoon pool, a palm garden, and a retractable roof.
