Hermagor&#8217;s district capital is this as well. The name of the town comes from Saint Hermagoras, our patron saint\u2014the first bishop of Aquileia. Hermagor-Pressegger See in the lower Gail valley lies close the Italian border, towards the northern base of the Carnic Alps.
