Austrian state of Salzburg.As of 2018, the population of this 54.09 km2 place was 1,614.Via the Tauerntunnel, which crosses the Alpine crest, the Tauern Railway ascends to Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein.The cadastral villages of Dorfgastein and Klammstein make up the municipality.Both the ski resort at Dorfgastein, which is a part of the wider Ski Amad\u00e9 region, and the ancient Klammstein
