Rauris Valley inside the Hohe Tauern National Park\u2014the biggest nature reserve in the Alps*. The resort is surrounded by breathtaking mountains some of which reach heights of more than 3,000 meters. Ten lifts total at the resort; one of them is an eight-person gondola that carries guests to the highest point of the ski area\u20142,175 meters above sea level. There they can benefit from a system of treeless slopes that inspire a limitless freedom and a paradise created of deep snow. The resort boasts 32.5 kilometers of pistaces and 5 kilometers of ski paths, most of which would be suitable for intermediate and novice skiers. Apart from that, the resort boasts a fun park, a cross-country ski trail, a Toboggan run, and a ski school.<\/p><p>From the Celtic and Roman ages, the town of Rauris boasts an interesting and long history. Originally a center for gold mining, the town still shows evidence of this past through the museums and monuments. The town also boasts a magnificent medieval center comprising a Gothic church, a town hall, and a castle. The town hosts several yearly events including Rauris Literature Days, Rauris Carnival, and Rauris Harvest Festival in addition to acting as the hub for culture.<\/p><p>One of Ski Resort Rauris&#8217; main attractions are its amazing surrounds. The resort offers broad views of the snow-capped mountains, glittering glaciers, and rich valleys. The resort is a naturalist&#8217;s dream come true with a range of alpine flora and fauna including edelweiss, gentian, marmots, chamois, and golden eagles.
