Achenkirch is a picturesque municipality located in the Austrian Tyrolean Alps, situated at the northern end of Lake Achensee. The town provides great opportunities for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts and culture seekers. It is geographically situated on the northern shore of Lake Achensee with an elevation of 916 meters above sea level. The lake is the largest and deepest one in Tyrol, measuring 9.4 kilometers long by 1.1 kilometers wide, with a depth of 133 meters. Achenkirch\u2019s neighboring regions include Bavaria to its north, Eben am Achensee and Steinberg am Rofan to its east, Wiesing to its south and Brandenberg to its west.<\/p>

Achenkirch can be accessed conveniently using various means of transport. Innsbruck Airport is closest but Munich also serves as an alternative airport while driving through A12 via motorway or train and bus connections are other ways of reaching Achenkirch. The area possesses various grounds including flat valleys to steep mountains surrounding Achenkirch covering an area of 113.95 square kilometer having forested lands, alpine pastures, bodies of water such as lakes plus built-up areas for residential or commercial use.<\/p>

The climate of Achenkirch is continental and influenced by both lake and mountain effects. Influence of Achenkirch from its being near to Lake and mountains makes it have a continental climate characterized by four distinct seasons with varying temperatures, precipitation and wind patterns. Spring falls within March and May when there is rainfall, moderate humidity, winds and rise in temperature. Achenkirch is a municipality within the Achensee region which includes five municipalities and is situated in Achenkirch, Tyrolean area of Austria. It has a height of 916 meters above sea level and is next to Lake Achensee, which is the biggest and deepest lake in Tyrol. The lake gets its waters from Achenbach and Dalfazbach streams and finally drains into Inn river. It can be accessed through different modes of transportation such as air, road or rail since it covers an area of approximately 113.95 square kilometers with varying topography including forests, alpine pastures, water bodies, agricultural land and built-up areas.<\/p>

There are 11 divisions and sections in Achenkirch, each with its own character and qualities. In the main village of Achenkirch, is placed on the northern shore of Lake Achensee and possesses a lovely church, museum, golf course, hotels and restaurants. Achenseehof is a quiet settlement that offers peace and tranquility through its agricultural and tourist accommodation establishments.<\/p>

Achental which is a picturesque valley along the Achen river, is an ideal location for outdoor activities like hiking, biking or cross-country skiing. This region has many paths as well as magnificent viewpoints. The largest lake in Tyrol called Achensee is also good for watersports. This natural lake created by glacier during ice age offers visitors so much to do including sailing, windsurfing, fishing swimming etc.<\/p>

Achenwald found at the end of the Achental valley to the western ends provides starting points for various walking tours or cycling routes.
