The town is proud of various museums displaying its rich legacy, artwork, and customs. Comprising a former granary building, the Museum Kitzb\u00fchel is one of the principal museums in Kitzb\u00fchel. Renowned painter and architect Alfons Walde, who caught the beauty and spirit of Kitzb\u00fchel and the Alps, has works displayed here in this museum. Apart from a collection of religious art and folk costumes, the museum presents displays on the history of skiing, mining, farming, and handicap in the area. The Walentowski Galerien, a modern art gallery exhibiting the works of Austrian and international modern artists, is another noteworthy institution in Kitzb\u00fchel. Established and new artists have a stage at this gallery thanks to a rotating exhibition program spanning several genres and styles including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art. Apart from its museums, Kitzb\u00fchel presents a distinctive museum experience in the shape of the Hexenwasser Shop. Part of the Hexenwasser theme park, this museum is situated in the neighboring village of S\u00f6ll and honors the traditions and myths of witches and water spirits claimed to live in the region.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nestled among two of the oldest historic buildings in the town, the Museum Kitzb\u00fchel \u2013 Alfons Walde Collection offers a unique window into the past and culture of Kitzb\u00fchel and the surrounds. Through well chosen exhibitions and video and sound works, visitors are guided through the history of the town and winter sports with Toni Sailer and the renowned “Kitzb\u00fchel Ski Miracle Team” of the 1950s. Alfons Walde is the major focus of the museum’s permanent collection. With 60 paintings and more than 100 graphics, drawings, photographs, and prints, the Kitzb\u00fchel painter’s work is on show mostly on the third floor and attic.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The museum is totally devoted to the life and efforts of historical mountain farmers and peasants. On show are a functional flour mill from 1770, a weaving room, a cobbler’s and saddler’s workshop, big agricultural machinery, and Jochberg’s first sports cable vehicle. Accessing the Hinteroberau Farmhouse Museum on the sunny side of Kitzb\u00fchel, directly below the Kitzb\u00fcheler Horn, one follows the R\u00f6merweg. Spaced among rich meadows and woods, the weathered classic Salzburg-Tyrolean Einhof features buildings including a laundry, chapel, oven, bee house, and threshing floor. It is absolutely worth a visit; there is a great variety of tools, furnishings, and equipment on show.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Krampusmuseum Kitzb\u00fchel supports and exhibits actual Krampus customs. Thanks for a grant from the city of Kitzb\u00fchel, the museum has been open since April 2010. More and more rooms for the display of the robes, masks \u2013 which are funded by both voluntary entrance donations and association activities \u2013 are being built following a significant collaborative effort by the Ruat\u2019n Pass Kitzb\u00fchel. The company is focused in providing guests with fresh impressions and lowering anxiety among those who suffer from it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Some of the natural and cultural jewels from the area are kept at the Jochberg Museum. Since 2004, among other things, it has held the Vorderk\u00fcnstler Farmers’ Museum, which transports guests to the days of traditional farming. Visitors can also see large agricultural gear, a weaving room, Jochberg’s first sporting cable car\u2014a working flour mill from 1770\u2014and Here, or in the hunter’s parlour, where native animal species and hunting tools are presented right before you, more amazing displays on the topic of fossils await you. Walentowski Galerien Kitzb\u00fchel is one of the rather famous art galleries in Kitzb\u00fchel. The pieces of modern painters from Austria and elsewhere are displayed in this collection. Its revolving exhibition schedule comprises painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art among other genres and techniques. Events and seminars held by the gallery also give art aficionados and collectors chances to interact with the artistic community.<\/p>

Zeitkunstgalerie Kitzb\u00fchel Maier GesbR is another somewhat well-known art gallery in Kitzb\u00fchel. Particularly for landscape and nature paintings, this conventional gallery highlights local and regional artists. Apart from displaying artworks, the gallery provides art workshops and seminars for both novice and advanced students, therefore promoting artistic growth and education.<\/p>

Galerie Frank Fluegel is absolutely must-visited for pop art aficionados. Renowned painters including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, and Damien Hirst abound in this exhibition. With locations in Kitzb\u00fchel and Jochberg, the Walentowski Gallery exhibits chosen pieces of classical current art, pop art, and modern art by regional and worldwide well-known artists. Since 2017 visitors to Kitzb\u00fchel’s Vorderstadt have been able to view and buy works by Michel Friess, Peter Linnenbrink, Volker K\u00fchn, Axel Crieger, Elvira Bach, Udo Lindenberg, and Otto Walkes. Kitzb\u00fchel Zeitkunst opened for business around thirty-five years ago. Apart from the Kitzb\u00fchel exhibition, there were subsidiaries in Innsbruck from 1986 to 1989 and Cologne from 1992 to 1996. Along with artists from Italy, France, and England, the gallery exhibits some Austrian painters. The gallery has been successful in providing a dynamic venue for known and upcoming artists in recent years by showcasing them. With regular show changes, the gallery offers a stage for regional and international artists.
