It has a population of about 1,700 people and is 2.44 square kilometers in size.The town gets its name from the Ziller River, which runs through the valley and is a tributary of the Inn River.<\/p><p>Zell am Ziller is located at 575 meters above sea level and is surrounded by the Zillertal Alps and the Tux Alps.The Kreuzjoch (2,558 meters), part of the Gerlossteinwand mountain range, is the highest point in the municipality.
