Swarovski Crystal Worlds

The Swarovski Crystal Worlds is a full immersive destination designed by André Heller for Swarovski, a leading maker of crystal glass. It includes a park, an art museum, a shopping center, and a restaurant. The firm was founded in 1995 and is located in Wattens, which is near to Innsbruck in Tirol. This location acts as the company’s headquarters as well as its genesis. The D. Swarovski Tourism Services GmbH is made up of the Swarovski Crystal Worlds and the Swarovski Kristallwelten Stores in Innsbruck and Vienna.

André Heller founded the Swarovski Crystal Worlds as an art museum in 1995 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of D. Swarovski KG. The museum is shaped like a giant. The interior of the company includes exhibition chambers designed after ancient cabinets of art and curiosities found in noble residences during the 16th century.A diverse group of artists, designers, and architects, including Brian Eno, Tord Boontje, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jim Whiting, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dal, and Yayoi Kusama, have used crystal as a medium within the 18 subterranean Chambers of Wonder, each presenting their own unique interpretation.Following the original inauguration in 1995, subsequent modifications and additions were carried out in 1998, 2003, and 2007.

Beginning in October 2014, the Swarovski Crystal Worlds underwent a 34 million euro restoration and expansion project. On April 30, 2015, the restored attraction reopened. The area increased from 3.5 to 7.5 hectares as a consequence of the conversion.Following that, an installation of 800,000 crystals known as the “cloud,” a play tower, and the Daniels Kristallwelten restaurant were built on the property.

Renowned artists, designers, and architects have ingeniously interpreted the idea of “crystal” in the Chambers of Wonder at Swarovski Crystal Worlds, including Brian Eno, Tord Boontje, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jim Whiting, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Salvador Dal.There are a total of 18 showrooms, each with a particular thematic emphasis.

The Garden of the Giant is a one-of-a-kind combination of modern art, ancient history, and entertainment. In partnership with internationally famous artists, designers, and architects, a 7.5-hectare park landscape comprising art installations and new structures was created around the iconic giant.
