The parish church of St. Pölten-Maria Lourdes is located in the Lower Austrian town of St. Pölten. The Roman Catholic Parish Church of Maria Lourdes is part of the Deanery of St. Pölten, which is part of the Diocese of St. Pölten.
The construction of a new church between the city center and Viehofen began during the interwar period, when the integration of Spratzer, Viehofen, and Wagram, as well as population increase, necessitated the establishment of a new parish. The land was bought in 1938, and the church building association was established in 1953.The 100th anniversary of the Marian apparitions at Lourdes was just around the horizon as plans became more solid in 1958, which is why the chapel was eventually dedicated to Maria Lourdes. The foundation stone was placed in 1959 after Franz Barnath won an architectural competition, and the church was consecrated in 1961.The church got a 3.70 m tall statue of the Virgin Mary by South Tyrolean sculptor Johann Rifesser in 1969, which has since stood in the middle of the apse.
Following an external renovation and roof replacement in 2018, the inside was refurbished in 2021.
The Oberösterreichische Organbauanstalt built the organ in 1981.
