Kunstraum Dornbirn

The Kunstraum Dornbirn is a non-profit organization that produces and conducts contemporary fine arts exhibitions.

Dornbirn’s Kunstraum Dornbirn is dedicated to the topic “Art and Nature.” This encompasses sensory, introspective, and artistic-analytical approaches to the concept of nature, as well as present breakdowns in perception of nature and the clash between artificial and natural perception worlds.

Gerald Matt was named honorary president of Kunstraum Dornbirn on July 1, 2019, the organization announced in June 2019. Bechtold has been President of the association since its inception in 1987 for the previous fifteen years.

The exhibition will be held at Dornbirn’s municipal park in the old Rüsch factory assembly hall.During the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the company was a significant turbine manufacturer.The large brick assembly hall was built in 1893, as the number and complexity of turbine runners and systems grew and more space was sorely needed.The hall is 440 m2 in total, with a length of 30 meters and a width of 14 meters. The exhibition area is approximately 350 m2.Because of its 11.5-meter height and large entrance gate, the assembly hall is truck-accessible.

The Kunstraum Dornbirn provides established artists as well as intriguing experimental positions for new artists to express their relationship to the environment and their point of view through art.The artists are given no guidelines regarding the media to be used.The majority of the artworks are created on-site.The only limitations on artistic expression are the dimensions of the hall and the financial capabilities of the community.
