Bregenz-Fluh Parish Church

The Bregenz-Fluh Roman Catholic parish church is located in the Fluh suburb of Bregenz, Vorarlberg.St. Wendelin parish church is part of the Feldkirch diocese’s Bregenz deanery.

In 1666, a chapel was constructed as a branch of Bregenz. Explanatory church built in 1820.The church was restored in 1846/1847 by architect Gabriel Mallaun and consecrated in 1849.The pilgrimage church was upgraded to the rank of parish church in 1872.

The nave is connected by a hipped roof to a recessed low chancel with a three-eighth note.The choir master received an east tower.On the east side of the tower is a two-story sacristy with a flat hipped roof.The round-arched sound opening tower is topped by a cornice and has flat triangular gables and a pointed helmet.

The nave’s barrel vault is flat.The frescoes were painted by Anton Marte and Hans Purin (1925).

For the high altar, Matthäus Schwachender (1693) painted a picture of St. Wendelin as abbot and patron saint of the church.On the left side altar is a painting of St. Maria by Bernhard Müller (1770).Franz Bertle’s (1876) artwork of Saint Magnus of Füssen graces the right side altar.A large pilgrimage scene with the St. Wendelin legend (1676) is shown in a painting.
