Saint Paul Cathedral is a cathedral in Tirana, Albania. It is administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tiran-Durres. Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa are shown in the stained glass window to the left of the main entryway. A statue of Mother Teresa may also be located at the cathedral’s entryway. It is a contemporary structure that does not resemble a typical church.<\/p>
When Pope John Paul II visited Albania in 1993, he lay the church’s cornerstone. It was opened on January 26, 2002.<\/p>
The cathedral is designed in the form of a combined triangle and circle, signifying the Trinity and God’s Eternity, and has a rather basic interior. A baptismal font with a Paschal candle may be seen in the rear.
